On January 20, 2021, the Biden Administration announced the preservation of the DACA program. After many years of uncertainty, this announcement means that “Dreamers” can file new applications when they are eligible and DACA recipients already in the program can file renewals.
The DACA-approval and the employment authorization (work permit) would be valid for a period of two years.
The Biden Administration also introduced a Bill to Congress to further enhance the DACA program and possibly create a pathway towards lawful permanent residence status and US citizenship. Please understand that this is currently only a proposal and not law. Therefore, it is important to stay informed while first proceeding with a DACA application.
You will find information about applying from the USCIS website here. To receive a FREE assessment to determine your eligibility, please contact us above or click the messenger icon.
